George E. Wright, Ph.D.

George E. Wright received his B.S. in Pharmacy at the University of Illinois, Chicago, IL and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Illinois, Chicago IL.  He was tenured Professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA and Dean of Graduate Studies.  He is currently President of GLSynthesis Inc., Worcester, MA, Affiliate Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, University of Massachusetts Medical School, and Affiliate Professor of Chemistry, Clark University, Worcester, MA.  Dr. Wright’s professional interests focus on medicinal chemistry, anti-infective drug development, and tools for drug discovery.

Don Melchior

Donald L. Melchior, Ph.D.

Donald L. Melchior received a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Antioch College, Yellow Springs, Ohio, studied Physics and Physiology at the University of Tübingen, Tübingen Germany and received an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University, New Haven, CT.  He did postdoctoral work at the C.N.R.S., Gif-sur-Yvette, France and in the Chemistry Dept. of Brown University, Providence R.I.  He was on the Chemistry faculty at Brown University, lecturer at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, and tenured faculty at UMass Medical School, Worcester MA.  Dr. Melchior’s professional interests center on the physical behavior of lipids and membrane bilayers, encapsulation techniques, and reconstituted membrane systems.

Frances Sharom

Frances J. Sharom, Ph.D.

Frances J. Sharom received her B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from the University of Guelph (Canada), and her Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Western Ontario (Canada).  She joined the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Guelph as an Assistant Professor and is currently Professor and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Membrane Protein Biology in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Guelph.  Dr. Sharom’s research interests focus on the role of ABC transporters and other membrane proteins in health and disease.

Andrew Brandt

Andrew A. Brandt received a B.S. degree in Business and Economics from Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH. He was a Managing Director at Briggs Capital, LLC, a Boston-based investment banking firm offering mergers & acquisition services to lower-middle market manufacturing and technology companies. During his tenure he led or had been involved in a broad range of transactions ranging from venture capital financing to all aspects of the merger and acquisition process in selling private sector companies. Andrew’s focus and expertise has been in the launch and development of start-up to early stage technology companies.
